for information about our development plans, including our commitment to work effectively with our community neighbors and the Jefferson County Planning Commission. We welcome community comment.

We're bursting at the seams.
We need to expand to accommodate modest growth, especially in our children's ministries. Our goal is to enhance our community presence while minimizing the impact of our growth on the neighborhood. The Planning Commission has identified the need to rezone this property. To accommodate that need we are currently working on a site survey and a development plan. Once we have the basic information needed we will actively seek neighborhood involvement to identify key interests and ideas for improving our neighborhood presence.

We have identified these key factors in our vision:
     - Our immediate need is for additional space for children's ministries.
     - Long term plans include a new sanctuary, located lower on the property to preserve neighbors' site-lines.
     - We enjoy the intimacy of a small congregation, and, wanting to preserve that, will limit our growth to accomodate a 150 seat sanctuary.
     - We enjoy the special "sense of place" and the rustic/contemporary mountain lodge style developing in the community's public architecture; our design will reflect that sensibility.
     - We will continue to develop off-street parking, as we have begun to do, further minimizing residential street traffic by shifting access to Houston and Main Streets.

Jefferson County Planning and Zoning...
     - Met February 1, 2008 with the Property Development Task Force;
     - Recommended that we apply for a "Special Use" classification while maintaining our current R1 zoning;
     - Outlined the ongoing process, including a revised application, initial and follow-up community meetings to share plans and seek input from neighbors.
