Adventist Community Services of Denver

Aspen Park Seventh-day Adventist Church is a regular financial supporter of ACS Community LIFT, which serves over 40,000 people in the Denver Metro area every year—half of which are children. The FamilyCare program has one of the largest food banks in the state, redistributing over 150 tons of food to families that need extra help. The Aspen Park congregation joins many others in helping to keep food on the shelves; pay the many bills; and provide emergency shelter, ID replacement, disaster response, and medical care for people in need.

How can Aspen Park SDA Church members support ACS?

  • By contributing to our regular church budget;
  • By inquiring into volunteer opportunities;
  • By specifying an extra gift specifically for ACS, marking it appropriately on your tithe and offering envelope; our treasurers will pass it on to the agency;
  • By contributing these items:
    • CANNED FRUIT and VEGETABLES; Applesauce, peaches, mixed fruit, corn and green beans;
    • DIAPERS, sizes 2 through 5;
    • TOOTH BRUSHES and small sized TOOTHPASTE.
    • We used to be known as the RICE CHURCH, since that was our former contribution. Since ACS now has a bulk rice supply, we can now shift our attention to the above items.

Park County Crisis Center / Mountain Peace Shelter

Aspen Park Seventh-day Adventist Church is a regular financial supporter of the Park County Crisis Center, also known as the Mountain Peace Shelter. We are also ready to assist in specific volunteer opportunities. The Center provides services for people in need all along the 285 Corridor, including Jefferson County.

Here is the Center’s Mission Statement:
“The Park County Crisis Center’s mission is to create a continuum of care from violence prevention to crisis intervention to empowering self-sufficiency, through community outreach, a 24 hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, and supportive services for the residents of Park County and surrounding mountain communities.”

How can Aspen Park SDA Church members support the Park County Crisis Center?
  • By contributing to our mission and outreach funding, especially through the Sabbath School offering
  • By looking at the Crisis Center “Wish List” available in the church lobby, and donating needed items by placing them in the marked container, also in the lobby
  • By donating old cell phones and placing them in the marked container (we recommend doing a “reset” on your old cell phone before donating it, to eliminate all personalized information)

Adopt-a-Highway

The Aspen Park Adventist congregation cooperates with the Adopt-a-Highway program operated by the Town of Aspen Park. Twice a year, we get together and have a wonderful time picking up trash on Noah Avenue alongside the church; and on the other side of Highway 285, on Barkley St. and Conifer Rd. Coordinator: Dick Matthews.
