How to know God personally
"It’s not politically correct to say this, but it must be said that there is good religion and there is bad religion...Bad religion, no matter what label it goes by, brings sadness. That’s one of the easiest ways to recognize bad religion—by the gloom in the faces of people who practice it..."

"The truth on the subject comes straight from Jesus, which means it comes straight from God. Listen to Jesus:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.
I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
(Matthew 11:28-30, The Message.*)"

“AspenPods”—your opportunity for growth

What’s an AspenPod? It’s our name for small groups for fellowship and ministry. Groups meet for “AspenPod seasons” of several weeks at a time, on various days of the week. Currently, some AspenPod  groups represent distinct geographical areas, others represent affinity groups:

“Revelation” study and prayer group meets every week, digging into the meaning behind the symbols of this incredible book and what it means for our time. For more information, call Roger at (303) 838-8967 or Carla at (303) 330-0223 Emmanuel & Carla Lefebvre 303-330-0223 Tuesdays
The southwestern suburbs Barbara Bovey 303-283-9632 Wednesdays
Mountain Area Women's Bible Study:
"Believing God" - a Beth Moore study. Find some incredible discoveries! Wednesdays at 9:30am beginning May 6 and continuing for 11 weeks.
Julie Sobota 303-697-6425 Wednesdays
9:30am
5/6-8/15

Everyone in the Aspen Park/Conifer community is invited to join an AspenPod, guests, newcomers and members alike. Which means that if you are within driving distance, you are invited and warmly welcomed! Call a group leader today for location and directions. Or call Jacki Sobota, AspenPod coordinator, with questions about which group may interest you most. Jacki's number is 303-718-1908.

Small groups are a natural and simple way to provide for spiritual development and ministry for others. The groups bring a personal focus and participation that cannot be realized in the setting of larger church services.

Why not join in today? Groups are beginning a new series of discussions periodically and are ready to include new people in each circle of care.

Prayer Ministry...

Prayer and prayer ministry are prominent at Aspen Park SDA Church. For example:
  • Adult Sabbath School—times for praise and intercession, every time.
  • Worship service—time for expressing praise and thanksgiving; and specific intercession for needs expressed on prayer cards.
  • Prayer Network—needs and answers shared weekly via e-mail, and when necessary by phone (coordinator: Barb Bovey).
  • The Book of Grace—an attractive scrapbook in the front of the sanctuary where members can record the names of special people in their lives who are in need of Christ, and for whom we can pray.
  • Informal prayer ministry—all members are encouraged to look for and use opportunities to pray with others ... by phone or in person ... through the week as well as in our worship times.
